Running at dog shows

Today is the first of 4 days of dog shows.

I told myself I would not become a crazy dog lady.

I lied.

I have two beautiful Hungarian Vizslas that I think are the best.

Soooo

I take classes to learn to "run" with my dogs. The down and back. The around. Being able to look at where you are going, your dog and the judge at the same time is tricky business. That's why I take lessons.

I hear tips like: you are going to slow, you are going too fast, you are weaving, dance with your dog, look at the judge, smile, look at your dog, look where you are going, your dog is pacing, get your bait out, put your bait away, smile...

At the same time we are supposed to be having fun. It is fun...I guess. I am a competitive person and even though I tell myself that this is good practice and its good experience and its ok if we don't win, I really want to win. It would be f'ing awesome to win.

Yep, I run in the ring.
